- Sign the last page of the syllabus and have your parents sign it, too.
- Join English Forum at MLWGS [http://mlwgsenglish.proboards31.com/] and post a hello with a one paragraph description of one of your hobbies. (Use your complete first and last names fo the sign in.)
- Go to the Journalism Wikispace [http://wallerjournalism.wikispaces.com/], apply for membership, and post your name and email address.
- Bring in a news article from an actual newspaper (not one from on-line) and be prepared to summarize it verbally.
Thursday: Hand in signed syllabi. Check posts on the English Forum. Check entries on the Journalism Wikispace. Share and discuss articles. Read and discuss news articles in the Richmond
Times-Dispatch. For homework,
- Post on the English Forum an idea for a news article about the Governor's School. This should be a 1-3 paragraph summary of what the article might address. The first person to post must start the thread, and no article ideas may be repeated.
- Read a newspaper over the weekend.
