Tuesday 2/22: Mr. Waller will be absent. Group A: Get ready for Thursday, which will be both Day 6 & 1. Group B (Day 3): Show your article notes to the substitute teaher and continue working on your article. For homework,

1. Group A: Continue working on the final layout in Publisher, including photos, pulled quotes, and headlines. Prepare an article proposal for the next class, including a clipped article of the type that you are assigned.
2. Group B: Complete a rough draft of your article.

Thursday 2/24: Group A: (Day 6 & Day 1): Finalize the final layout on the computer, print a copy to hand-in to Mr. Waller at the end of the period, and put an electronic version into the Jabberwock folder on the hard-drive. Turn in article proposal and accompanying clipped article of the same type to the teacher at beginning of period. Group B (Day 4): Show the rough draft of your article to Mr. Waller and work on the article with a peer and go over the appropriate checklist. For homework,

1. Group A: Continue working on your article assignment.
2. Group B: Prepare a final draft to turn in to Mr. Waller. (The final draft must be double-spaced and have the appropriate headers.)

2. Group B: Prepare an article proposal for the next class, including a clipped article of the type that you are assigned.
3. Group A: Complete a rough draft of your article.

Thursday 2/17: Group B: (Day 1): Turn in article proposal and accompanying clipped article of the same type to the teacher at beginning of period. Group A (Day 4): Show the rough draft of your article to Mr. Waller and work on the article with a peer and go over the appropriate checklist. For homework,

Friday 2/18: Group B (Day 2): Work on article by scheduling interviews, taking pictures, and performing research. Group A (Day 5): Turn in the final draft to the teacher at the beginning of the period, then make corrections and begin the final layout when the article is returned to you. For homework,

2. Group B: Pick a News-In-Brief article topic and post it on the bulletin board. Explain the who, what, where, when, why, and how of the article. (List what you know and what you need to find out.)

Thursday 2/10: Group A (Day 1): Turn in article proposal and accompanying clipped article of the same type to the teacher at beginning of period. Group B: Share news ideas posted on the English Forum and work on News-In-Brief article. For homework,

2. Group B: Work on your News-In-Brief article.

Friday 2/11: Group A (Day 2): Work on article by scheduling interviews, taking pictures, and performing research. Group B: Work on your News-In-Brief article. For homework,

2. Group B: Complete your News-In-Brief article and post it on the bulletin board. The article should have a direct lead, be 2-3 paragraphs long, and be no more than 100 words.
